Eminem is a very well respected rapper who has been in the public eye for many years people find Eminem’s music very inspiring and very lyrical because they find his lyrics have true meaning.

Rihanna is a very well established artist in the music industry.  This music video is about domestic violence, and because Rihanna has experienced first hand domestic violence appeals to Eminem and he feels the audience can relate to this song because the woman who is singing it has experienced it. So basically when Chris beat Rihannna up first it was quite awful but now it works in her favour as she has gained more popularity and her now appeals to a wider audience.

Dominic Monaghan was chosen because his character in lost was a heroin addict who was very vulnerable and  in this music video he is very similar to his character in lost so therefore that is why he was casted in this music video

Megan Fox was casted for this music video, because she is a sex symbol and has as very high profile, so by using her she appeals to a wide audience.

She promotes herself and people begin to become more interested in her. She promotes Glee as her fans would tune in and watch her creating more ratings. Also channel 4 benefits, because they are the channel which allow the show to be aired.

Cheryl Cole became famous after appearing on PSTR and winning her place as one fifth of band Girls Aloud. Girls Aloud careers had flourished. Cheryl did a TV show for ITV (The passions of Girls Aloud) in a bid to appear in Will. I. am  new music video. Cheryl also took vocals in his song. This resulted into her becoming bigger and landing a record deal and with Will. I am producing her NO1 album titled three words. She is also a judge on the X factor.

How did she reach her fame?

Cheryl Cole reached her fame through Girls Aloud. When Cheryl punched at toilette attendant that worked in her favor as now she is know for being a feisty Geordie.  She landed a place as a judge on the X factor where she gained ultimate fame. Through the X factor she gained a deal with L’Oreal and she is the face of L’Oreal.

Does this article show her in a positive or negative light towards the artist?

This is a slightly negative and positive because its Cheryl’s mother not approving of the man that she wants to date after her divorce from footballer Ashley Cole. This article may make other men go off Cheryl Cole because her mother has high expectations of the man that she thinks that Cheryl could date. However it is positive because people who are interested in Cheryl’s love life would want read this so it is quite positive for her as people are interested in her. However people would empathize with her because she has been cheated on by her ex husband so that show her in a positive light.

What images  have been used  and how does it present the artist?

The image is of Cheryl leaving an airport with her mum this portrays her positively because it shows that she has not lost contact with her family just because she is famous.

Does the publication angle the story so that the audience aspires to be like the artiste?  Empathizes with the artiste?

I do not think that this image would make heat readers to aspire to be like her because Heat magazine neither a teenage magazine or a adult magazine. But I do think the readers empathize with her because she has been cheated on.

This film is aimed at a teenage audience and the genre is horror. You can see that it is a horror by the icongraphy and the dark colours such as the colour black this makes a statement and draws you in and because it is so bold and eye-catching and you instantly know that this will take place in the night and in the night it is very isolated compared to the daytime. The tree branches show isolation because there are no leaves. the house also shows isolation because no one is in the house also the man on the still shows isolation because he is all alone by himself. It is also very ironic that the man is covered by black shadow yet the is white light around the outline of his body

The main colours, which are used, are mainly black and navy shade of blue a hint of red and white. The colour black is associated with darkness and evil spirits. The navy shade of blue can be associated with water and the faces of the characters have a hint of blue this may suggest that water is involved a lot in the film. The girl in the forefront is wearing a white vest, the colour white connotes purity and innocence this may suggest that the girl is innocent in this horror film. There is also a double helix of the colour red this may suggest that death is involved a lot in this film because the connotations of the colour red is death violence, blood and sex. This may suggest to the audience that this is a horror film and it will contain conventions of a horror genre by the connotations of the colour.
The characters are all in forefront but however looking in different directions. The girl with the white vest is looking into a different direction to the others. She has one side of her face covered in a black shadow this contradicts the connotations of her white vest also another connotation could be that she is the type of girl, who is the one who cannot keep a secret but is forced by the characters. The boy behind the girl in the white vest looks mysterious and scary and by his facial features and where he has been placed this can suggest that he is the main antagonist in the film. The fact that the girl is covering his face can suggest that he has something to hide. Each one of the characters faces is overlapped by another like a shadow this can suggest to the audience that each and every one of them have something to hide. The girl between the two boys suggests that she is a stereotypical blond prom queen and she enjoys the care and attention of boys. This can be suggested from where she is placed in the film as she is placed in between the two boys, she is portrayed as a stereotypical girl this can be suggested because of the shock on her face. The boy at the end looks as if he has the most to hide this can be suggested by his body language and the fact that his eyes are looking directly away from the camera

The USP of the film is the actors as they have been in previous film this may influence the audience to watch this film because of the actor or actress who stars in it. Another USP is the reference to another film ‘from the writer of scream’ This may influence a buyer to also watch this movie because if they watched scream and the enjoyed it they may think that they will get the same kind of quality from ‘ I know what you did last summer’ also the title of the film is a USP because it is selling the film. The fact that somebody knows what they did last summer and the audience do not this creates an enigma as the audience what to find out what happened last summer.
